We Heard You

Each year we send out Evaluation Forms and ask for your feedback on what changes we could make to ensure that the California Classic is “the” premiere West Coast event in the spring.

While not every suggestion could be made either for monetary reasons or otherwise, we have made improvements to the largest issues.

  • Dust – Because of the winds in the afternoons, it got very dusty, so we will be watering down the rings and entry to the show each evening to reduce the dust.
  • Dumpster – We have asked the Fairgrounds to ensure that the dumpster has a ramp.
  • Wheel Barrows – we are going to order some additional wheel barrows.
  • We will have two vets and another on call in case one of the vets gets ills.  This should eliminate the long lines to check in.
  • We will also have a Hospitality table at vet check for the volunteers and people checking in that will have water and snacks.
  • Some complaints were made that there was insufficient lighting to properly evaluate the alpacas, so we have moved the rings a bit to the North so that a portion of the rings will be in sunlight.
  • There will be a break in the Halter Show to close the Silent Auction and Herdsire Auction on Sunday.

NEW THIS YEAR

  • We are going to have a “People’s Choice” Fiber Arts Exhibition where ribbons will be given out for those that get the most votes.
  • Exhibitors MUST be in the vet check line by close of vet check in order to be admitted.  Only true emergencies will be allowed after that and on a very limited basis.
